Grey Team takes game 5, 5 to 7: Grey Team Down 2 Games to 3 Now

Game 5 had Freshman Shawn Hardcrow starting for the Grey Team, and Senior, Luke Vera, starting for the visiting Purple Team. The bottom of the 2nd inning RJ opened up the scoring for the Grey Team, with a bases loaded single, and followed up by a 2 RBI single by Crockett. The Purple Team would get one run back in the top of the 4th on and RBI single through the right side by Eli Gordon. In the top of the 5th inning the Purple Team would get one more run back without recording a hit in the inning. Alex Smith walked to tart the inning, and later in the inning an error by right fielder Gabe Figueroa scored Alex. But in the bottom of the 5th Zac Jones would single to right would score Dakota Ebarb. The rest of the game was about the Grey Teams bullpen. Tyler Vernon came in the 6th to throw a scoreless inning with 2 strikeouts, then in the 7th the short stop, Jacob Barker, took the mound to close the door and that is exactly what he did as he got two quick fly ball outs, and then struck out Jake Smith to end the game. Hardcrow would get the win as he pitched 5 innings with 3 strikeouts, and Barker would get the save in the Grey Team's win. Game 6 takes place at 4 this evening at Lonnie R. Qualls Field.
